As
we look to the remaining months in 2010 and to 2011, there are a number of
projects that
we believe are necessary to complete as we continue to focus on
our mission of leading people
to life in Christ.
These
are some of the projects that we would love to see completed in 2010/2011: We
would
like to see the foyer of the church renovated with new flooring along
with a café and a
welcome centre/office space. The basement bathrooms need to be redone and the
kitchen is
in dire need of some refreshing! Another new feature we believe would be a
tremendous tool
for the community is a sign at the front of the church that
allows us to advertise events and
activities at the church.
There
are also some immediate needs that are required along with some of these new
projects
that include some work in the electrical room, possible leaks in the
foundation and roofs that
need to be redone.
We
believe that these changes are necessary not for our comfort, but so that
Simcoside
continues to be a place where people who are exploring faith can feel
at home. Our desire
is that
people will return to Simcoside not just because of our friendly and spiritual
excellence,
but also because of our great environments.
Here
is how you can help. First
pray. Ask God if you can help out
and in what capacity. Any
gift of any amount will help us meet our goal and in turn help us continue to
reach out to the
community.
Second, spread the word.
There are others who might want to help out financially
outside of our
Simcoside community. There
is literature and pledge cards available on the
website as well as at the
Welcome Centre at the back of the church.
Third,
fill out and hand in any pledges and the enclosed pledge card by October 31st,
2010. If
you can give a one
time gift before the end of the year that would be fantastic! However, we realize
that many of
us might want to give but can only give in stages so the pledge card will help
us
manage our gifts. This
will also help us stage in the projects in 2011 based on our income. You
can pledge any amount you would
like to give and then break up the gift according to your budget
in the
upcoming year.
